FROM the BOTTOM to theTOP

Last Night I was so proud. I felt like I changed the world. Like it has been said a million times in the past hour I never imagined this would happen.

With that thought in my mind and a lot of hope in my heart I voted anyway! As a race I don't think you could ever truly understand what it feels like to be held back by the world. Or what it's like to truly wonder where you come from. To be ripped away from the culture that makes you who you are and forced to adapt in a society that doesn't want you there.

TO say MY PRESIDENT IS BLACK is not to offend you it's to applaud the efforts and progress of who we are as people(and a song). we came from the bottom literally. The bottom of a slave ship in shackles. Our parents and grandparents were raised as second class citizens. And now finally we have became a true part of American history, and not just our own.

It's not about his race. It's about his mind and how he makes the WORLD feel. Looking at him we are able to see hope for a better tomorrow. But you could never understand how he makes us feel. For the first time I truly feel proud to be an American, and not just an African American

You should definitely not limit this post to Blogger.com. More people need to really understand why it's so important to us as blacks to finally have a black president. It's not a racial thing... and ALL races (including blacks) need to realize that. It's a first, and I'm sure that if a woman had been elected president, women would be just as excited because it would have been a first. People just really need to get out of thinking everything is about racism and stuff like that! GOSH!
